Who we are
Carrot Aero Innovations is an Australian aerospace R&D company developing novel, cost-effective uncrewed aviation systems to provide Australian and partner forces with a decisive, asymmetric advantage. Development started in 2023, and accelerated through 2024 culminating in the formal founding of the company structure in 2025, with 100% veteran ownership. The company maintains an operator-centric focus, with a leadership team comprising active and reserve Australian Defence Force (ADF) members with deep expertise in flight testing and defence capability development.
Carrot Aero Innovations is committed to enhancing Australia’s sovereign industrial capability through local design and manufacturing. Their flagship product the Lapwing Tactical Mission System, exemplifies this approach by delivering a disruptive, high-performance capability at a fraction of the cost of existing systems, designed to solve critical capability gaps for the modern warfighter.
Carrot Aero Innovations uses emerging air domain technology to support the warfighter with asymmetric effects.
THE PROBLEM
Modern land forces face a critical capability gap in flexible modern effects at the tactical level.
Existing exquisite aviation platforms and closed-architecture systems are too expensive and inflexible for high-mass, attritable employment in a peer conflict.
This creates a risk where tactical units cannot effectively deploy diverse payloads—such as ISR, electronic warfare, or decoys—without relying on higher-echelon, less responsive assets, limiting their operational tempo and freedom of action.
THE SOLUTION: LTMS
The Lapwing Tactical Mission System (LTMS) is a modular, attritable aviation platform engineered for high-mass deployment and rapid adaptability. Built entirely around a "bring your own payload" architecture, the LTMS serves as a reliable, cost-effective delivery vehicle for diverse mission profiles.
Launching from a standard logistic container (Joint Modular Intermodal Container, JMIC), LTMS delivers a >1.2 kg payload to ranges exceeding 20 km with level flight dash speeds of over 250 km/h.
Designed for precision mass and survivability, LTMS can operate in GNSS-denied environments and requires no active communications link post-launch.
We collaborate seamlessly with leading defence industry partners to integrate third-party payloads, transforming the base chassis into a multi-role asset. Current configuration pathways include:
Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR): Persistent, low-observable tactical overwatch.
Electronic Warfare (EW): Forward-deployed electronic attack and spectrum dominance.
Decoy Operations: Threat replication and air defence saturation.
