Who we are

Carrot Aero Innovations is an Australian aerospace R&D company developing novel, cost-effective uncrewed aviation systems to provide Australian and partner forces with a decisive, asymmetric advantage. Development started in 2023, and accelerated through 2024 culminating in the formal founding of the company structure in 2025, with 100% veteran ownership. The company maintains an operator-centric focus, with a leadership team comprising active and reserve Australian Defence Force (ADF) members with deep expertise in flight testing and defence capability development.

Carrot Aero Innovations is committed to enhancing Australia’s sovereign industrial capability through local design and manufacturing. Their flagship product the Lapwing Tactical Missile System, exemplifies this approach by delivering a disruptive, high-performance capability at a fraction of the cost of existing systems, designed to solve critical capability gaps for the modern warfighter.

Carrot Aero Innovations uses emerging air domain technology to support the warfighter with asymmetric effects.

THE PROBLEM

Modern land forces face a critical capability gap in organic fire support.

Conventional mortars are increasingly out-ranged by adversary systems, while existing precision-guided munitions and loitering munitions are too expensive for massed employment in a peer conflict.

This creates a risk where tactical units cannot effectively suppress or destroy enemy positions at a distance without relying on higher-level, less responsive assets, limiting their operational tempo and freedom of action.

THE SOLUTION: LTMS

The Lapwing Tactical Missile System (LTMS) is a containerised, affordable cruise missile system providing commanders with a long-range precision strike capability.

It delivers a >1.2 kg payload to ranges exceeding 20 km with level flight dash speeds of over 250 km/h.

Designed for massed precision fires and survivability, it can operate in GNSS-denied environments and requires no active communications link post-launch.

Its launcher uses a standard logistic container (Joint Modular Intermodal Container, JMIC) form factor for integration with existing vehicles and platforms.
